Clay Paintings

Explosions of flowers inspired by the colorful world of children's picture books. This series was created in fits and bursts, during moments of respite from caregiving. In states of overstimulation, the artist recenters herself through the careful construction of small, wiggly forms. What began as scattered, momentary acts of escape resolves into a cohesive landscape. Chaotic, colorful, touchable, the type of terrain you'd hate to cross while retreating in a sleeping child's room.
